River: A mountain river is a river which usually flows in the mountain and which is the quickest and the coldest river in the world. The Ukraine’s longest and the most important river is the Dniester['ni:stq] which flows toward the Black Sea. Also the Danube ['dxnju:b] is an important and large river in Ukraine.

Lake: There are a lot of lakes in the world. There are five lakes in the Great Lakes: the Superior, the Hudson, the Michigan, the Erie and the Ontario. All these lakes are in the USA. Superior Lake is the largest one in the Great Lakes and it’s the second largest lake in theworld. The lakes in the deserts are often called oasis [əu'eIsIs]. These lakes are the most important places in the deserts because they’ve got fresh water.

Sea/island: An island is an area in the seas. Islands can be big (Greenland) and can be small (Zmeinyi). Bishop Rock is the world’s smallest island; it’s in the Celtic Sea. The saltiest sea in the world is the Dead Sea; there are no islands in it. The Mediterranean [`medIt(q)'reInIqn] Sea is the most important sea in Europe. There are plenty of islands in the Mediterranean Sea. The Coral Sea is the deepest and the hugest sea in the Pacific Ocean.

Waterfall: Waterfalls are the most beautiful features on the rivers. The tallest waterfall in Africa is the Victoria Falls which is on the Zambezi River. In South Africa there is the Tugela Falls which is 948 metres high. One of the widest waterfalls is the Iguacu Falls between Brazil and Argentina [`RGqn'ti:nq]. In the USA there are a lot of waterfalls but the most important one is the Niagara Falls.
