The aim of our project was to draw students` attention to Magnitogorsk ecology, bring some facts to light, get acquainted with the flash mob action «Earth Hour», show the beauty of Magnitogorsk autumn. To reach our goals we organized an exhibition devoted to Magnitogorsk autumn. Here is only a small part of the exhibition. Before the exhibition we conducted a social questionnaire. The results are being discussed below. The exhibition is organized in the period «Foreign Languages` Week in College» So many emotions and impressions! Each visitor of the exhibition was given a flash- mob social brochure and a flyer «Earth Hour». About 70% of those who took part in the questionnaire were interested in our exhibition! We were happy, of course! About 50% of participants know about the Earth Hour. It means that our students are not indifferent. They pay attention to eco-actions. About 30 % are ready to clean out the yards where they live, 19% are ready to plant trees, and only 4 % think that everything is Ok. So, most of the students are eco- wise, eco- conscious, they understand they are also responsible for the ecological situation in our city. The polluted river Ural is on the 1st place The 2nd place is air contamination. 50% of participants are ready to sort out the trash in 2 baskets. So, our students understand the importance of ecological conservation. No surprising that most of the students know that the main source of contamination is Magnitogorsk Iron and steel Works. Magnitogorsk has the 10th place in the rating of ecologically worst cities in Russia. But 40, 5 % think that it has the 5th place. And at last 100% of Magnitogorsk population are potentially affected.
