A hiking family

My name's Kevin Finer, and I'm originally from the state of Indiana in the United States. When I was 19 years old, I moved to Venezuela in South America, and later returned to the United States, where I attended Brigham Young University in the 1980s. I majored in Spanish education and TESOL, or teaching English as a second language. After graduating from college, my wife and I moved to Japan where we lived for eight years. Now, I work back in the States in Utah.

However, my greatest interests are my family. I realized that the most important things in life lived within the walls of my own home, and today, I try to put them first. My kids wouldn't remember me for the work I did outside of the home; they would only recall the moments we spent together. Therefore, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have four children, and we go hiking and camping together, usually in Utah. On our hikes, we often talk about life, and I tell stories or share personal experiences. When I do this, I can focus on the kids without the distractions of video games or the Internet. Telling stories sounds easy, but when you have to think of a new story on a hot, 12-kilometer hike through the desert, you have come up with ideas off the top of your head.

Now, this doesn't mean we don't have problems; all families face challenges in their lives, and our family is no exception. However, we try to talk openly about our problems, and we try to solve our problems together. Building a strong family takes time, but it is worth the effort.

Мене звуть Кевін, і я родом зі штату Індіана в США. Коли мені було 19 років, я переїхав до Венесуели в Південній Америці, а пізніше повернувся в США, де я навчався в університеті Бригама Янга в 1980-х роках. Я основну освіту здобув в Іспанії і, TESOL або викладання англійської мови як другої мови. Закінчивши училище, моя дружина і я переїхли до Японії, де ми прожили вісім років. Тепер я працюю в Штатах, в Юті.

Тим не менш, мої головні інтереси-це моя сім'я. Я зрозумів, що є найважливіше в житті, прожитого в стінах власного будинку, і сьогодні я намагаюся поставити сім’ю на перше місце. Мої діти не пам'ятають мене через те, що я працював поза домом, вони б лише хотіли згадати моменти, які ми провели разом. Тому мені дуже подобається проводити час з моєю родиною. У мене четверо дітей, і ми ходимо в походи разом, в походи, як правило, у штаті Юта. На нашій екскурсії ми часто говоримо про життя, і я розповідаю історії або ділюся власним досвідом. Коли я роблю це, я можу зосередитися на дітях без відволікань відеоігри або інтернету. Розповідати історії звучить просто, але коли потрібно придумати новий сюжет на гарячий, 12-кілометровий похід через пустелю, ви вигадуєте щосб надзвичайне.

Тепер, це не означає, що у нас немає проблем, всі сім'ї стикаються з проблемами у своєму житті, і наша сім'я не виняток. Однак, ми намагаємося відкрито говорити про наші проблеми, і ми намагаємося вирішувати наші проблеми разом. Створення міцної сім'ї потребує часу, але це варто зусиль...

Youth organizations

Life of youth in Ukraine is determined by the economic, social, and political situation of the country. The economic crisis in Ukraine has led to unemployment, especially of youth. As a result of it the criminal situation has immensely changed for the worse. That's why Ukrainian government took special measures for the foundation of youth organizations in Ukraine. The Students' League is aimed at solving various students' problems, including economic ones. The members of this league organize youth forums, festivals, and group meetings. This organisation also maintains friendly ties with the universities and colleges of such countries as the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany and Holland. These ties include students' exchanges on educational and cultural programmes. The League of Ukrainian Youth was founded at the end of 1990 by students and teachers who had taken part in protest demonstrations and a hunger strike in Kyiv earlier in the fall. It was organised for the "development of democracy and realisation of human rights in Ukraine; to support Ukrainian education; and to draw youth into scientific work". Youth Environmental League was established in 1993. It promotes biodiversity protection and technology for "environmentally clean" products and runs education projects to involve youth in the environmental movement. Youth clubs of different interests have come into being these days. They unite music fans, sports fans, theatregoers and others.
