Приложение. Отговорки курящих родителей

Как и для любой химической зависимости, для курения характерны отрицание, оправдания, отговорки. Соответственно, наблюдаются они и у курящих родителей. Рассмотрим некоторые из таких отговорок.

«Я не курю рядом с ребенком»

Исследование, в котором сопоставлялись результаты опроса родителей о курении и данные биохимических индикаторов подверженности детей воздействию табачного дыма, показало, что у детей, чьи родители курят дома, вне дома и не курят вообще, концентрации котинина составили соответственно 137.13, 75.60, и 43.28 нг/мг [70]. Таким образом, если родители считают, что, куря вне дома, они не подвергают своего ребенка воздействию табачного дыма, им можно сообщить, что в крови их ребенка, тем не менее, продуктов метаболизма никотина почти в два раза больше, чем в крови детей некурящих родителей.

«При нашей экологии курение уже не имеет значения»

Однако исследования [14] показывают, что в воздухе наполненной табачным дымом комнаты может содержаться в шесть раз больше загрязняющих воздух веществ, чем на загруженной автостраде. А табачный дым внутри автомобиля может быть еще более токсичным, чем выхлопные газы в часы пик.

«Соседка курит в комнате, а я на балконе, ее дети не болеют, а мои болеют бронхиальной астмой, значит, их астма не связана с моим курением»

Такого рода отговорки весьма характерны для курящих родителей, у которых дети уже страдают какими-то заболеваниями, но признавать свою роль в развитии этих заболеваний родители не хотят. Напомним, что, с одной стороны, для любого заболевания существует множество факторов риска, и курение является одним из них. Поэтому, если у курящей соседки не было семейной предрасположенности к бронхиальной астме, это заболевание могло не возникнуть, но могли развиться другие заболевания. С другой стороны, исследования установили связь бронхиальной астмы с курением матери во время беременности [65]. Курение же родителей после рождения ребенка служит не столько причинным фактором возникновения астмы, сколько фактором возникновения респираторных симптомов у детей, как имеющих астму, так и не имеющих ее [35, 55].

Мы очень кратко познакомились с тем, что происходит и что можно делать в тех случаях, когда курят родители.

Я надеюсь, что для заинтересованных специалистов эта книга станет первым подспорьем при работе в данном направлении.

Тем, кто считает, что пусть курят родители, лишь бы не курили их дети, я хочу напомнить одну простую истину: дети курят потому, что курят взрослые. Соответственно, если вы хотите оградить детей от курения, стремитесь к тому, чтобы не курили взрослые.
