Our Academy

The Khabarovsk State Academy of Economics and Law is a great educational center in the Far East of Russia and one of higher institutions training highly skilled specialists for all spheres of economy and law. Nowadays the KSAEL is one of the most popular and respectable Far Eastern Higher schools. Studying here is not only prestigious but also promising.

History

The history of KSAEL has started since 1970, when the Institute of National Economy was founded. It was reorganized into KSAEL in 1994.

Now the total number of students studying at the Academy is about 8000.

Future certified specialists are trained at 6 Faculties in 1 5 specialties and more than 20 specializations: law, management, banking, finance, insurance, accounting, auditing, statistics, foreign economic activities, commerce, marketing and so on.

The Academy is the intellectual center, which influences greatly the development of the economy, education, science and culture of the Khabarovsk territory and the Far East region.

The Co-ordination Council in the fields of economy, management and law of the Far Eastern regional educational-methodical center has the Academy as its headquarters.

The scientists of the Academy take an active part in working out the regional program "The Russian Far East" and putting it into effect. Besides they participate in innovation projects in the sphere of finance and marketing, which were proposed by the Ministry of Education of the RF.

Great importance is attached to involving students into the research activity. Students take an active part in All-Russian scientific competitions, the Far Eastern festival "Student Spring" and they often win prizes or at least they are among the best participants. Law students often take part in Moscow International Competitions on International Law and bring various rewards and prizes.

Student's life and Education

The latest teaching methods and the modern computer technologies are widely used at the Academy.

Students of the Academy have practical training in financial, economic divisions of enterprises and organizations, management and commercial establishments, courts and Bar Associations to get the necessary skills of work.

The reading hall and one of the best stocks of economic and legal literature are at the student's disposal. The stock of foreign literature and foreign periodicals is being intensively accumulated. The total book stock is 250 thousand books. The Academy has the access to the global informational network "Internet".

There is a Student's dining-room and a cafe at the Academy.

Student's amateur concerts, amateur concert parties, professional holidays, Clubs of the Merry and Quick-minded take place in the Hall of the Academy.

The Academy is well equipped for the physical training and sport, scientific activities and amateur work.

Law Department

The Law Department of the Academy is one of the oldest and most famous educational establishments in the Russian Far East.

Its history began in 1939 and originally it was an affiliation of the Moscow Extra-mural Law Institute. Today there are 3 departments: the Daytime department; the Extra-mural department, where students are trained by correspondence and the Department for specific training.

Students can specialize in Civil, Criminal or State Law and have lectures and seminars with prominent scholars and practicing lawyers.

Graduates of the Law Faculty work as attorneys, notaries, judges, investigators, legal advisers all over the Khabarovsk territory.

Law students are often the first in all kinds of Students' Competitions, both sport and scientific. They regularly participate in All-Russian Olympiads and bring home various prizes and awards.
