Text 3. Fire Extinguishing System indicators and controls in Boeing 737

In Boeing 737 the fire extinguishing system indicators and controls are located at the forward overhead panel, lightshield panel (or module) and control stand aft electronic control panel. (Fig 1.1)

Look at the figure 1.2. There is fire extinguishing electronic control panel. In the case of a fire or overheating in wheel well, the WHEEL WELL fire light illuminates red on the fire control panel, the fire warning light illuminates red on the glareshield and a warning bell sounds in the flight deck.

This signal FAULT shows that there is a fault at both loops.

This signal shows that there is a malfunction of APU Fire warning system. The indicator MASTER CAUTION will illuminate.

The illumination of APU BOTTLE DISCHARGE indicator shows that bottles at APU are discharged.

The illumination of ENG 1 OVERHEAT or ENG 2 OVERHEAT indicators indicate on overheating appropriate engine. The indicator MASTER CAUTION will illuminate

In the case of a fire in APU, this indicator illuminates red on the fire control panel, the fire warning light illuminates red on the glareshield and a warning bell sounds in the flight deck.
