The Moscow zoo

The Moscow zoo was organized by the Russian Imperial Society of acclimatization of animals and plants in 1864. The professor of the Moscow University Anatoly Petrovitch Bogdanov became one of the main initiators of his creation. He called a zoo "a live museum in the open air".
