Dialogue. (tonight Molly and Yolanda are going to go out with Jack and arnold for the first time

(Tonight MOLLY and YOLANDA are going to go out with JACK and ARNOLD for the first time. YОLANDA and MOLLY are talking on the telephone.)

YOLANDA: Hello?

MOLLY: Hi, Yolanda. This is Molly.

YOLANDA: Hi, Molly, What's up?¹

MOLLY: I'm really nervous about this date tonight. I'm going to need your help.

YOLANDA: What's the matter?

MOLLY: It's my first date with Jack. What am I going to do? What am I going to say to him?

YOLANDA: Wait a minute, Molly. Things will work out.

MOLLY: Okay. But I'm really nervous. I can't think straight.² Are you going to offer to pay for your ticket? YOLANDA: Yes, I am. A lot of women are paying for themselves these days.

MOLLY: Yeah, that's true. What time are they goingto pick us up?³

YOLANDA: They aren't. We're going to meet them at eight o'clock sharp⁴ in front of the theater. Be sure to be there on time.

MOLLY: What? Aren't they goingto pick us up?

YOLANDA: No. They want to meet us at the movie.

MOLLY: I don't want to go alone.

YOLANDA: I'll pick you up on my way to the theater. Will you meet me downstairs?

MOLLY: All right. But don't forget to call me before you leave your house.

YOLANDA: All right. I won't.

MOLLY: Yolanda, there's another question on my mind. Are you going to go up to Arnold's apartment after the movie?

YOLANDA: MMM... I don't know, Molly. It's only our first date. I'm going to play it by ears.⁵

MOLLY: I'm so nervous! I know I'm going to do something stupid and put my foot in my mouth.⁶This isn't going to be an easy evening for me. I can feel it.
