My Family

Our family is not very large. I have a father, a mother, a brother and a sister. We all live together in a new flat in one of the sleeping districts of Moscow.

My father Semyon Sergeyevich is 57. He is an engineer at a big plant. He likes his work very much and spends much time there. My father is a tall well-built man with dark hair and grey eyes. By character he is a quiet man of few words unlike my mother who is talkative and energetic.

My mother’s name is Olga Pavlovna. She is a teacher of music at a music college. She plays the piano very well so she sometimes takes part in different concerts. She does a lot of housework. She cooks our meals, makes the house, does the washing and the shopping. She is a busy woman, so we help her when we can. My mother is a beautiful woman of 47 with dark hair, blue eyes, long fingers and a nice voice.

My sister’s name is Anna. Like mother she has dark hair, but her eyes are grey. She is a very good-looking girl. She is younger than my brother and me. She is a schoolgirl. She does well at school and gets only good and excellent marks. She is a gifted girl and wants to be a pianist like our mother. She goes to music school and she plays the piano very well.

My elder brother’s name is Boris. He does not live with us he is married. His wife and his son live in another town. They sometimes come to see us to celebrate family or national holidays.

My name is Tatiana. I am an office worker at the local department of education and a correspondent student at the Vologda Department of the Moscow Law University. I am in my second year. I want to be a good lawyer so I am doing my best at the University. I always get good marks and I am never late with my tests and papers.

We are a friendly family and we like to spend our free time together. In the evening we watch TV, read books, discuss the news and receive guests. We also like visiting our relatives. At the weekends we go to the country, where my grandparents live. They are pensioners and like to live out of town. My great grandmother is alive. She is over 80 and she lives with my grandmother’s family. She is always glad to see us.

I also have many relatives: uncles, aunts and cousins, because my mother has two brothers and my father has three sisters and a brother.
